Ninety-four charges have been laid against 15 people in a major drug trafficking investigation entitled “Project Humidity” by Belleville police.
In a release, police say that the investigation focused on the distribution of fentanyl and cocaine, drugs that continue to pose a serious threat to public safety.
Between June and September 2025, investigators executed four Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants at various locations in Belleville.
Items seized include the following:
- 43.7 grams of fentanyl
- 238.6 grams of cocaine
- 21.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine
- 14 oxycontin pills
- 1 Glock .40 caliber handgun with 15 rounds
- 99 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition
- 1 conducted energy weapon
- 1 pepper spray
- 1 baton
- 2 prohibited knives
- $4,735 in Canadian currency
- 1 stolen vehicle recovered
“This investigation demonstrates the dedication of our officers and the importance of working with provincial partners to combat drug trafficking,” said Belleville Police Chief Murray Rodd in the release.
“By removing these dangerous drugs and weapons, we have dealt a decisive blow to organized crime in Belleville and reaffirmed our commitment to keeping every corner of our community safe.”
Belleville police relayed the following public safety message:
Fentanyl is an extremely potent opioid, and even a small amount can be fatal. The Belleville Police Service urges residents to:
- Avoid all illicit substances—you cannot be certain what they contain.
- Seek help if you or someone you know is struggling with addiction. Resources are available through local health services.
- Report suspicious activity related to drug trafficking by calling 613-966-0882 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
Police say that the successful completion of this investigation was made possible through funding provided by the Ontario Government, Ministry of the Solicitor General in which the Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario supported this investigation.
