Belleville council has approved creating a bylaw that would bring new fines for various parking infractions at its meeting on Monday.
Most parking fines in Belleville below average levels in comparable municipalities.
Staff recommended council approve increasing some fines as outlined in a recent comprehensive parking study done by outside consultants.
While most of the fines are unchanged, some will increase barring approval from the Ministry of the Attorney General.
It’s estimated that the fines could generate an extra $111,000 in revenue for the city.
