In the AHL, The Laval Rocket beat the Belleville Senators 5 to 2 on Friday night.
Arthur Kaliyev and Philippe Daoust scored for the Senators.
The Rocket opened scoring in the first period with two unanswered goals, followed by the Senators coming back in the second to tie the game with two unanswered goals of their own. In the third, the Rocket broke the tie with the game winner in just over 8 minutes of play, followed by two more goals just before the game ended.
The Senators will host the Rocket at CAA Arena for game two of their back to back series on Saturday. The puck drops at 7pm.
