A 41-year-old Clarington woman is facing two charges after a three-month investigation by the Peterborough Police Service.
In early September 2025, Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) asked the Peterborough Police Service to undertake an investigation involving a Clarington councillor, a former police officer with DRPS and a current DRPS member.
The investigation was related to communication made to a potential mayoral candidate for the Municipality of Clarington.
As a result of the investigation, 41-year-old Corinna Traill of Clarington was arrested on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, and charged with:
- Utter Threats x2
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court January 13, 2026.
