Two people from the Stirling area are facing charges in connection with a fraud investigation by Northumberland OPP.
On October 15, police received a report that a person engaged to provide home support in the Municipality of Trent Hills, had used financial information to make unauthorized purchases.
After a six-week investigation, officers arrested two individuals on Tuesday.
Thirty-three-year-old Alecia Bendfeld of Stirling-Rawdon Township has been charged with:
– Fraudulent use of credit card data
– Fraud under $5,000
James Sanderson, age 35 from Stirling, has been charged with:
– Fraudulent use of credit card data
– Fraud under $5,000
– Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Both accused are due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in January.
