An Ottawa-area resident is facing charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a weapon in Northumberland County.
Just after midnight on Tuesday, OPP stopped a westbound passenger vehicle on Highway 401 in Hamilton Township after observing it following another vehicle too closely.
Further investigation revealed the driver was breaching multiple release orders.
The individual was taken into custody and a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of an edged weapon.
Thirty-six-year-old Minja Prodanovic from Orleans is charged with unauthorized possession of weapon and three counts of failure to comply with release order.
The accused was held for a bail hearing in Cobourg.
