Belleville City Council approved the water and wastewater rates for 2026 at its council meeting on Monday.
The increases include water rates of 1.63%, with larger increases to monthly flat-rate water charges at 5%.
The other is a residential and general service wastewater surcharge increase of 7.6% over the planning period (surcharge rate of 111.9% in 2026).
For 2026, the average residential customer using 18 cubic metres monthly will experience an increase in their combined water and wastewater bill of 5.36% or $7.26 per month.
