Status quo for next year’s local election

Any decision regarding a possible change to how municipal elections are run
in Stirling-Rawdon will be left to a future council.

Recently Stirling-Rawdon council voted to defer moving ahead with a question on the 2026 ballot asking voters whether they would like to dissolve the current two-ward system.

Ward 2 is the urban or village ward and Ward 1 covers the rural area.

Ward 1 has a slightly higher number of residents.
