The crown attorney for Hastings and Prince Edward County has announced his retirement.
In a press release, it was announced that Lee Burgess will be retiring in December.
With 35 years of service under his belt, Burgess is the longest serving crown attorney in the province. Burgess began his career as an assistant crown attorney in 1990 in Ottawa and he joined Belleville in 1993.
He prosecuted several serious and notorious cases during his time as an assistant crown attorney, and was appointed as crown attorney in 2003.
A new crown attorney has been appointed, Michael Lunski, who will be taking over the role.
