Quinte West OPP have made two arrests in two separate impaired driving incidents.
On Thursday, at 8:30 a.m., police found a vehicle that had been involved in a traffic complaint. The driver was found to be impaired and driving a stolen vehicle.
Pierre Couture, a 63-year-old from Quebec, was charged with operation while impaired, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, driving with a hand-held communication device, driving without two licence plates, driving without a licence, and unsafe lane change.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
Later that same morning, at close to 11 a.m., officers responded to a call for a vehicle that did not remain at the scene of an accident. The driver was located a short time later and arrested.
Joanne King, a 54-year-old from Frankford, was arrested and charged with operation while impaired, dangerous operation, and failure to remain.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville. Her vehicle was impounded for seven days and licence suspended for 90 days.
