A vehicle fire in the Brighton area is responsible for the closure of Highway 401 east on Thursday afternoon.
OPP report the smoke was causing visibility issues.
The fire occurred early this afternoon in the eastbound lanes between Percy St (IC 497) / CR 25 (the Big Apple), Colborne and Northumberland CR 30 (IC 509), Brighton.
Police have not released any further details.
And Lyle St N in Grafton was closed near Highway 401 just before 5 p.m. for a downed hydro pole.
Hydro crews are on scene.
OPP asks motorists to use alternate routes but stress that there is heavy traffic volume in the area due to the 401 closure.
