OPP are reminding drivers to be cautious of deer this holiday season.
Wildlife aren’t the only hazard on winter roads, with police advising drivers to be mindful of many factors that can make winter driving more dangerous. Snow, ice, and reduced visibility can also contribute to accidents.
Police are advising drivers to use snow tires, slow down when spotting wildlife, watch for black ice or other slippery road conditions, and plan your route ahead of time.
Deer and other large wildlife are most active near dawn and dusk, and drivers are warned to be extra alert during those times.
