Quinte West’s Docs by the Bay has signed another two doctors to its Family Medicine Recruitment Program.
Dr. Adetunji Adewole and Dr. Vikie Bedard were in attendance at a signing ceremony Tuesday at Quinte West City Hall.

“This is huge for the City of Quinte West and all our residents. Both of the physicians are working and already taking on patients, so this is a huge win.”
“Dr. Adewole is actually joining us from the U.K. and he did some research about the 401 corridor and he chose Quinte West for its beauty. Dr Vikie Bedard is actually from Belleville and she chose Quinte West and she’s ready to live and work and raise her family in the City of Quinte West.”
Dr. Adewole obtained his medical degree in Nigeria and completed his residency in the United Kingdom.
He will be practising at the Great Lakes Medical Centre in Trenton.
Dr. Adewole – “I chose to come to Quinte West for its welcoming community and the opportunity to practice the full scope of family medicine in a supportive environment. I look forward to building long-term relationships with patients and families, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and contributing to the overall health of the community.”
Dr. Bedard is from the Quinte region and studied medicine at the University of Ottawa .
She is working at the Quinte West location of the Belleville Quinte West Community Health Centre.
Dr Bedard – “I’m moving to the community because this is where I grew up, and returning here truly feels like coming home. My family and I were drawn back by the strong sense of belonging, the familiar faces, and the supportive environment I’ve always cherished. As a family doctor, I’m passionate about providing comprehensive, compassionate care across all ages, and there’s something deeply meaningful about doing that work in the place that helped shape who I am. I’m grateful for the warm welcome and excited to give back to a community that has always felt like home.”
