Police have arrested a suspect after a shooting in Oshawa left one victim with serious injuries.
On Sunday, November 9 at approximately 10:20 a.m., Durham Regional Police responded to shooting at a residence in the area of Simcoe Street North and Bond Street West. Officers arrived on scene and located a female who had been shot. The victim was transported to a local area hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.
On Thursday, November 13, the suspect was arrested without incident.
Deondre Blake, age 19 of Waterdown, has been charged with several offences including Aggravated Assault, Discharge Firearm with Intent to Wound, Endanger Life or Prevent Arrest, Assault with a Weapon or Imitation Weapon, Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly not Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate, Carry Concealed Weapon, Use of Firearm During Commission of an Offence and Point Firearm.
He was held for a bail hearing.
