The City of Quinte West has announced the appointment of Matt Tracey as its new director of Public Works and Environmental Services.
Tracey has worked for the City of Quinte West since July 2009 when he was hired as manager of Water and Wastewater Services.
Before joining Quinte West, Matt spent four years as director of Water and Wastewater Services with Prince Edward County and 11 years with Ontario Clean Water Agency. Matt holds an environmental diploma from Loyalist College.
Matt is a past president and served on the board of the Eastern Ontario Water Works Association for many years.
The director of Public Works and Environmental Services oversees roads and park operations and waste management services, as well as the city’s engineering and water and wastewater divisions.
“I’m looking forward to starting the role of director with the City of Quinte West and further working with our Public Works teams to provide the best service to our community,” said Matt Tracey.
“We are pleased to welcome Matt as Quinte West’s director of Public Works and Environmental Services,” said Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison. “In this role, Matt will work closely with staff and the community to support the city’s long-term strategic goals.”

Tracey will assume the director position on Nov. 23, 2025.
