A 62-year-old male suffered fatal injuries after a single motor vehicle collision in Clarington.
On Sunday at approximately 9:20 p.m., Durham Regional Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Newtonville Road and Clarington Concession 4.
A sedan was northbound on Newtonville Road, just north of Clarington Concession Road 4 when it lost control and left the roadway and went into a creek.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the sedan, a 62-year-old male from Clarington was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger, a 56-year-old female was transported by EMS to a local area hospital and was later transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries.
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
