A man is facing robbery and resisting arrest charges following a theft from a Belleville business Thursday morning.
Police responded to a Sidney Street business just before 10 a.m. where staff reported a male had entered the store, yelled at employees and then stole merchandise leaving on foot.
Officers reviewed video footage and were able to identify a suspect.
A short time later, police located the male in the downtown area and, after a brief foot pursuit, placed him under arrest.
Christopher Town, a 32-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:
-
Robbery with theft
-
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
-
Resist peace officer
He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in December.
