An individual from western Ontario is facing drug trafficking charges after a significant drug seizure in Bancroft.
On Sunday, shortly before 2:00 p.m., Bancroft OPP conducted a traffic stop on Mill Street and, during the interaction, observed items typically associated with drug use.
The driver was arrested and a subsequent search of the pickup truck located more than 130 grams of suspected fentanyl, nearly 90 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and nearly 15 grams of suspected crack cocaine, along with several pills suspected to be diazepam and oxycodone.
Christopher Hulsman, age 43 of London has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
- Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Personation with intent (identity fraud)
- Possession of an identity document
- Failing to comply with an undertaking – six counts
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing in Belleville on Monday.
