Organized crime groups are targeting elderly individuals in public spaces, using distraction techniques to steal jewellery.
These crimes are typically carried out by a team. One suspect may place a piece of jewellery on the victim as a diversion, while discreetly removing an item the victim is already wearing.
The theft often goes unnoticed until the suspects have fled the area.
