Automated Speed Enforcement will end in the City of Belleville in just a few days.
The city reports the program will be discontinued effective this Friday, following recent legislation from the province that removes municipalities’ authority to operate ASE cameras.
Infractions recorded before November 14 will continue to be processed, and vehicle owners will remain responsible for paying any fines issued, even if the notice is received after the program ends.
City officials say they will continue to implement traffic calming measures.
The city had been operating four cameras, rotating them through 11 community safety zones since 2024.
