The number of building permits issued in the City of Belleville in October more than doubled over the year before.
There were 111 permits with a construction value of just over $76 million issued last month compared to 55 permits worth $51.2 million in October 2024.
The start of construction on the new YMCA Centre for Life on Bridge Street West in Belleville made up the bulk of October’s construction value – $58 million.
There were nine permits for new residential construction.
Year-to date-construction remains well ahead with just over $214 million worth of construction activity through the end of October.
That’s already higher than the $200 million recorded for all of 2024.
