Belleville police have arrested a woman in connection with reports of a theft at a west-end business.
The investigation started on October 28 when officers responded to the business for a call about a woman who repeatedly entered the business and stole items. Officers reviewed camera footage and identified the suspect.
On Saturday, November 1, officers were on patrol just before 2 p.m. when they found the suspect walking on College Street. Further investigation found she was under a probation order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
As a result of the investigation, officers arrested Amanda Lake, a 48-year-old woman of no fixed address, and charged her with theft under $5000, failing to comply with a probation order, and common nuisance.
She was held for a bail hearing.
