Northumberland OPP have recovered a stolen vehicle, and charged one person in the process.
On Friday at approximately 4:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle travelling on Highway 401 through Bowmanville.
The driver failed to stop for multiple OPP cruisers and exited the highway before coming to a stop on County Road 30 in the Municipality of Brighton, where officers safely took the individual into custody.
The vehicle was reported stolen in the Greater Toronto Area on October 29.
As a result of the investigation, 30-year-old Toir Bizkad of Scarborough, has been charged with posession of property obtained by crime over $5000, possess proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, three counts of dangerous operation, two counts of fleeing from a peace officer, and four counts of failure to comply with a release order.
The accused was held for bail to to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
