Prince Edward County is asking residents to share their thoughts about the new long-term care building project the municipality is currently undertaking.
Construction is underway on the new 160-bed long-term care home in Prince Edward County.
The current H.J. McFarland Memorial Home remains in operation while the new building is under construction.
The new home will include many spacious resident lounges and areas that meet or exceed ministry requirements as well as large open areas for community gatherings, relaxation or entertainment and family visiting.
There will also be enhanced programming and care spaces to improve resident outcomes and extensive landscaping, outdoor walkways, and patios to connect the home to the broader community and Millennium Trail.
Input from the survey will help the municipality understand awareness, perceptions and information needs related to long-term care in Prince Edward County.
All those who complete the survey and provide a contact email will be entered into a draw to win a $100 gift certificate for any store, restaurant, service or experience offered by a Prince Edward County business.
The survey is completely confidential.
Any reporting will only involve aggregated data points with no personally attributable information.
The municipality is asking participants to fill out the survey online if possible.

Paper copies are also available from Customer Service at Shire Hall (332 Picton Main Street).
“As I look out the window every day and see the new facility taking shape across the street, I am getting more and more excited about what the future holds,” says Dione Mills, acting director of long-term care for the County of Prince Edward. “We would welcome input from everyone as we start to build awareness and involve the community in our future home.”
