Two men are facing charges following separate arrests and drug seizures in Cobourg, one of which resulted in the confiscation of drugs with a street value of more than $155,000.
On Tuesday evening at approximately 7:00 p.m., police on general patrol in the downtown area observed a male wanted for breaching the conditions of a release order.
During the arrest, police located approximately 15.64 grams of suspected Fentanyl, 5.5 grams of suspected cocaine and a quantity of cash.
The amount of Fentanyl is equal to a potential 1,564 lethal doses.
The estimated total street value of the drug seized is approximately $2,100.
As a result of the police investigation, Matthew Lebold (34) was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime.
The accused was held in custody pending a show cause hearing.
A traffic stop on Wednesday morning resulted in an arrest and a drug seizure.
At approximately 12:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by an individual wanted on an outstanding warrant.
During the stop, officers observed a male passenger in possession of a controlled substance.
As a result, the passenger was arrested.
Upon arrest, police located approximately 379 grams of suspected Fentanyl, 45.64 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and a quantity of cash.
The amount of Fentanyl is equal to a potential 3,790 lethal doses.
The estimated total street value of the drug seized is approximately $156,200.
Kyle Grieder (39) of Hamilton Township, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and failure to comply with a probation order.
The accused was held in custody pending a show cause hearing.
The driver was charged with failing to attend.
