Sad news this morning from the City of Quinte West this morning (Thursday).
Longtime Trenton ward councillor Sally Freeman has died following a lengthy illness.
First elected to Trenton council before the amalgamation to Quinte West in the 1990’s Freeman served on every council with the exception of one term when she ran for Mayor unsuccessfully.
Mayor Jim Harrison says Freeman was a good councillor who cared about the community.
“She supported our healthcare system especially our doctor recruitment program and tried to help strengthen our healthcare in Quinte West and
was also a very strong supporter of our first responders.”
The flag at Quinte West City Hall will be at half-mast in Freeman’s honour.
Funeral details are unknown at this time.
