The Loyalist Lancers Cross Country and Women’s Rugby teams are competing in OCAA provincial championships this weekend.

The Cross Country team is headed to Marydale Park in Mount Hope for the OCAA Provincial Championships, hosted by Mohawk College.

The team consists of seven runners including three local athletes, Cassandra Brennan (Wellington) Robert Leybourne (Marmora) and Bianca Rainville (Belleville).

The women’s race takes place at 11 a.m. and the men start at 12 noon on Saturday.

The women’s rugby team is competing in OCAA Championships in Kitchener with hosts Conestoga College.

The team finished in an impressive fourth place in the league and take on fifth-place Seneca Sting in quarter finals at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Faith Ayres (Belleville, ON), second-year fitness & health promotion student was also named an OCAA League All-Star

Rowynn Cochrane (Stirling, ON), first-year nursing student was named to the OCAA All-Rookie team.
