Intimate Partner Violence
On October 20, 2025 at 10:48 a.m., Belleville police responded to a report of an assault in the city’s west end. The complainant reported observing a male slap a female. Officers attended the address and spoke with the male and the female. It was reported that a verbal altercation had occurred which escalated when the male slapped the female. As a result of investigation, a 27-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault. He was held for a bail hearing.
Intimate Partner Violence
On October 20, 2025 at 11:52 a.m., Belleville police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the city’s west end. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a male and female. It was reported that a verbal altercation had occurred, during which the male pushed the female into a bathtub. As a result of investigation, a 20-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault. He was released on an undertaking with conditions not to communicate with the female and is scheduled to appear in court in December.
Theft
On October 20, 2025 at 5:11 p.m., Belleville police responded to a report of theft at a business in the city’s north end. It was reported that a male had stolen items and fled on foot. Officers attended the area and located the suspect matching the description. Officers observed that he was in possession of the stolen items. As a result of investigation, Todd Plews, a 48-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with theft under $5000. He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in November.
