A 37-year-old Peterborough man is in custody and facing multiple charges after a disturbance that happened over several blocks Monday night.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. on October 13, 2025, officers received several calls about a man carrying a 2″x4″ piece of wood who had broken a business window and struck vehicles in the Hunter Street East and Mark Street area.
Upon arrival to the area, officers located a man matching the description given to police walking through the ballpark at Hunter Street East and Burnham Street.
They followed the man and took him into custody without incident.
During the investigation, officers also learned that the suspect had attempted to enter a residence in the Hunter Street East and Driscoll Terrace area.
When confronted, the suspect struck a tenant on the arm with the piece of wood before fleeing.
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics.
As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Mischief – destroys or damages property x 2
- Fail to comply with probation order x 2
The accused is currently bound by two probation orders with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, October 14, 2025.
