Northumberland OPP discovered an illegal cannabis grow operation while checking out a dropped 911 call.
Officers responded to the dropped call at an address on 6th Line in the Municipality of Port Hope late Friday afternoon and discovered what was believed to be an illegal cannabis grow operation.
As a result, a search warrant was executed with the assistance of the OPP Peterborough-Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).
Police seized over 1,000 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of approximately $1,000,000.

In addition, over 500 pounds of processed cannabis were located on the property.
Yikai Ding, age 59 of no fixed address, and 69-year-old Xiuqi Kiu of Markham, have both been charged with possess, produce, sell, distribute or import anything with intention to use it to produce, sell or distribute illicit cannabis.
Both individuals were held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
