Prince Edward County’s Committee of the Whole is recommending council move ahead with a land swap with a developer in Picton.
The swap involves the county giving the developer small sections of Nicholas, David, and Cumberland streets in exchange for some land near the Wastewater Treatment Plant and near a public access route to Delhi Park.
The municipality would receive 60,000 square feet of land while the developer would receive 15,000 square feet.
If final approval is given to the project the developer plans to build 109 apartment units, six townhouses and two semi-detached residences.
Some of the units would be considered affordable housing.
