Cobourg Police Service is investigating two thefts that may be related.
They occurred on the afternoon of October 5 at two separate retail stores on Elgin Street West.
In the first case, two female suspects allegedly stole approximately $2,500 worth of merchandise.
In the second incident, two female suspects allegedly stole approximately $60 worth of merchandise from a store in close vicinity to the first.
The investigation remains ongoing as police work to identify the suspects.
Cobourg police are also investigating a break and enter that occurred on the morning of October 8.
At approximately 1:10 a.m., police responded to an alarm at a building in the area of Third Street.
Upon arrival, police observed insecure doors and a window that appeared to have been forced open.
Investigators are working with the property owner to determine if any items were taken.
Both investigations remain ongoing.
