Peterborough County OPP arrested an individual after an assault took place outside a store.
On October 3, 2025, Peterborough County OPP received a call regarding an assault that had taken place in the parking lot of a store on Highway 7 in the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan. The caller stated that one male approached the other after leaving the store and after a brief exchange of words, began striking the first male. The accused then left the area.
Officers attended the scene and spoke with the victim who had visible injuries. While speaking with the victim, the accused returned and approached police. The male was arrested.
Ryan Legault (age 48) of Peterborough, was arrested and charged with assault.
He was released with a court date of November 4 to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
