Sales and prices were mixed in the Quinte region real estate market in September.
However, in its monthly report the Central Lakes Association of Realtors, representing realtors in Durham Region, Hastings County, Prince Edward County, Northumberland County, Peterborough County, and Kawartha Lakes, says generally there were more active listings than in August giving buyers more choice than in the recent past.
In Belleville last month, 48 single-family homes were sold at a median price, the price at which half
of the homes sold was lower and half higher, of $561,000.
In August, 41 homes sold at a median price of $552,000.
In Quinte West, 41 houses sold at a median price $550,000 in September.
The month before, 47 changed hands with the median price staying the same.
September was a busier sales month in Prince Edward County than in August.
Forty-five homes sold at a median price of $695,000. In August, 30 homes sold at almost the same median price.
In Brighton, 18 houses changed hands at a median price of $635,000. The month before, the number of homes
sold was almost the same at 17, but the median price was significantly higher at $700,000.
