There were fewer permits issued, but with a higher dollar value, in building activity in Brighton last month.
The municipality’s building department reports that 17 permits with a construction value of $5.43 million were issued in September.
During the same month in 2024, 20 permits were issued but their value was just $3.45 million.
Five of last month’s permits were for residential dwellings.
It’s a similar story year-to-date.
Through the end of September, 125 permits worth $113.84 million were issued.
There were 138 permits granted over the first nine months of last year but the construction value was just $45.87 million.
