An inmate from Millhaven Institution’s Regional Treatment Centre died while in custody Thursday.
Nicholas Shipman was 43 years old and had been serving a sentence of 18 years, since March 10, 2022.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances.
