4 p.m. FUNDRAISING UPDATE $49,652.00

Today (Wednesday October 1) is the big day for a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children from families of limited means.

CJBQ, MIX97, and ROCK107, along with six other local radio stations will host the Kids Can’t Wait Radiothon to raise funds for the Foundation, which serves families in Hastings, Prince Edward, and Northumberland counties.

Last year, over $70,000 was raised during the radiothon which runs from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Drop by and say hello at the foundation’s headquarters on Dundas Street West in Belleville as Tim Durkin hosts CJBQ’s Lorne Brooker Show between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

The foundation provides sports, arts, and recreation programming, including summer camps for children from families of limited means.

Also, it provides skills training, supplies for babies, and scholarships and bursaries to help with post-secondary education.

• Bid in the Online Auction: This year’s Radiothon auction is packed with once-in-a-lifetime experiences—be a police officer for a day, firefighter for a day, or even a radio co-host. There’s something for everyone, kids and kids at heart.

Every contribution—whether through a donation or a bid—helps change a child’s future. Together, we can ensure that kids in our community don’t just get by, but truly have the chance to explore, learn, play and thrive.
