Members of the Peterborough County / Northumberland Community OPP Street Crime Unit (CSCU) have recovered items stolen from a marina and made an arrest.
On Monday, September 29, 2025, a Peterborough County OPP officer was dispatched to a report of a theft at a marina located in North Kawartha Township. The officer was advised that some time in the early hours of Sunday, September 28, a variety of trolling motors and fish finders were taken from boats at the marina.
As a result of this call, the Peterborough/Northumberland CSCU began an investigation into the theft. CSCU members attended an address in Durham where they executed a warrant and located approximately $40,000 worth of suspected stolen items. The suspect fled the scene upon police arrival but was located a short time later where they were arrested. The suspect, who was currently bound by conditions of various releases, was not to be residing in the Durham area.
Andre Leveille (age 53) of Oshawa was arrested and charged with;
• Theft over $5,000
• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – four counts
• Fail to comply with release order – four counts
• Breach of probation
The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice.
