The City of Quinte West is developing its first Fire Master Plan and is looking for the public’s input.
The City’s Fire Master Plan will assess how municipal fire and emergency services are delivered now and how they should evolve to meet future needs as the city grows.
The plan will provide a 10-year strategy for how fire protection and emergency services are delivered across the municipality.
An online Fire Master Plan public survey is open until Monday, October 20 at GetInvolved.QuinteWest.ca.
Paper copies can be obtained at Quinte West City Hall or the Frankford Municipal Office.
The City is also hosting a public information session on October 20 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Fire Station 1, 49 Dixon Drive, Quinte West.
This drop-in open house will welcome community members to learn more about the Fire Master Plan, meet members of the Quinte West Fire and Emergency Services team, and provide input on local fire and safety priorities.
“We want to hear from residents about what fire safety means to them and how we can continue to meet the needs of our growing community,” said Fire Chief John Whelan. “Your input will help ensure our services remain responsive, effective, and aligned with community expectations.”
Input received at the open house and feedback from the public survey will be used to create the Fire Master Plan.
The plan is expected to be finalized in early 2026 and will be made available on the City’s website following approval by Quinte West Council.
