A one-day distracted driving initiative along Highway 401 resulted in more than two dozen charges.
OPP officers from Quinte West, Centre Hastings, Lennox and Addington and Frontenac and the OPP Auxiliary Unit participated in Wednesday’s action along Highway 401 between Quinte West and Kingston.
Thirty people were charged for using their cell phones while driving.
First-offence drivers receive a $615 fine, three demerit points and a three-day licence suspension.
OPP remind drivers that focus on the road is your best safety feature and ask you to be alert, keep your hands on the wheel and your phone mounted.
