Northumberland OPP have charged three people in connection with a major fraud investigation involving an employee of Community Care Northumberland.
Police began the investigation in March, when the the organization reported that approximately $140,000 had been transferred to unauthorized individuals under the pretense of transportation services.
The transactions were believed to have occurred between October 2021 and February 2025 .
Following a six-month investigation with the assistance of the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit, two people were arrested on September 12.
Bobby-Jo Presten, age 45, from the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan, has been charged with:
– Fraud over $5,000
– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Christina Bowen, age 69, from Peterborough, has been charged with:
– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
A third person was arrested on Friday.
Twenty-three-year-old Nolan Preston, from the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan, has been charged with:
– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
All three accused are due to appear in a Cobourg court in October.
