UPDATE: Belleville police are confirming that a body has been recovered from Victoria Park.
In a release, police say they responded at around 9:20 a.m. to reports of a body in the water.
Belleville Fire and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics also responded.
No further details are being released until next of kin have been notified.
Police are no longer on scene but the investigation remains ongoing.
Police are at Victoria Park in Belleville for an investigation involving a death.
Details are few but it’s believed Belleville Fire was first called to the inner harbour at Victoria Park at the south end of the trail for a water rescue.
Belleville police forensic investigators are on scene and have cordoned off that area of the park.
Police have not released any other details.
