Prince Edward County has held a statutory public meeting for a subdivision proposed to be constructed in Hillier ward.
During the meeting, a representative of the developer presented their plans to divide a property at 1092 County Road 20. The subdivision presented consists of six lots with an access road running between them.
Several local residents spoke out against the plans during the meeting, concerned that the additional homes would overdraw the area’s well water, depleting it and leaving both existing residents and new homeowners with no choice but to purchase water at significant expense.
Feedback from the public and information from the developer were collected by municipal staff, who will present a recommendation to council on the proposed project at a future meeting.
