The MPP for Bay of Quinte riding says it would be inappropriate for him to comment on the support worker strike at Loyalist College and 23 other community colleges in the province.
Tyler Allsopp says it’s a labour dispute between the union and the employer, which is the provincial government.
However Allsopp says his government is well aware of the revenue problems hitting colleges after the federal government cut back the number of foreign students allowed into Canada.
Because of that Allsopp says some support has been provided to colleges to “shore them up” while the
government undertakes a complete review of how they are being funded.
