It’s a pilot project for now but Hastings County is giving parents of school-aged children enrolled in its
licensed child care programs a break on fees.
Under the program, families with kids between six and twelve years of age will be charged a lower fee of $22 a day for a full non-instructional day or before and after a regular school day.
For families who only want child care before and after a school day the fee will be $12 a day.
The program’s test period will run from September 1 until December 31 with the intention of continuing
the fees until June 26 of 2026 if funding permits.
