Aggravated Assault Arrest – Update
Charges against a 49-year-old Peterborough man arrested in connection with a stabbing in August have been upgraded.
On Saturday, August 15, 2025, officers responded to a residence in the Southlawn Drive and Otonabee Drive area. A 42-year-old woman was found with injuries and taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.
The Peterborough Police Service Emergency Response Team contained the residence and arrested a male suspect who was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment of injuries that happened during the initial incident.
As a result of further investigation, the 49-year-old Peterborough man has now been charged with:
- Attempt to commit murder
The accused is in custody and will appear in court today, September 2, 2025.
The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim in this incident.
