Fentanyl, weapons and cash were among the items seized by OPP in a Trenton drug investigation.
Earlier this summer, the East Region Community Street Crime Unit began an investigation into drug trafficking in the area.
On Friday, officers with the Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by members of the OPP Emergency Response Team, the Canine Unit and the Quinte West Detachment, arrested two people in Trenton.
The team later executed a search warrant at a residence on Creswell Drive.
During a search of the individuals, officers seized nearly 11 grams of suspected fentanyl, a bottle of prescription methadone, a set of brass knuckles, a replica handgun, and over $2000 in cash and other items typically associated with drug trafficking.
Thirty-eight-year-old Douglas MacGregor of Quinte West is charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts
- Traffick in a Schedule 1 substance
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon – two counts
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order – six counts
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime

The accused was held in custody with a bail hearing scheduled to continue on Tuesday before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
