A search warrant in Bancroft has resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs and the arrest of three people.
In a release, the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit says it began an investigation into drug trafficking in the area earlier this summer.
On Thursday, officers with the Community Street Crime Unit, with assistance from members of the Bancroft Detachment and the OPP Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a home on Hastings Street.
Over 13 grams of suspected fentanyl, over six grams of suspected cocaine and approximately one gram of suspected crystal methamphetamine, as well as items typically associated with drug trafficking were seized.
Thirty-seven-year-old Kyle Dexter of Lake St. Peter and Forty-four-year-old Chantel King of Bancroft have been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime
Twenty-seven-year-old Liam Mackay-Reddy of Highland Grove has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Failing to comply with a probation order – two counts
The accused were all held in custody with bail hearings scheduled before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Friday, August 29, 2025.
