It has taken a week, however, Quinte News has now confirmed the Belleville Police Service is investigating a fatality on the CNR tracks.
Last week, we laid out details of an investigation just east of the train yard in Belleville.
Multiple sources to Quinte News indicated emergency responders were called to the tracks along Airport Parkway.
We were also told forensics officials, police, fire, and paramedics were all on scene.
When Quinte News contacted Belleville police, we were notified the Durham Regional Police Service were overseeing the incident.
Saturday August 23, 2025 Quinte News received the follow statement from the DRPS.
“On Saturday August 16, 2025 at approximately 9:40 a.m., East Division officers responded to an assist police call after information was received that a male had fallen off a cargo train in the Clarington area. Officers attended and conducted a search at which time they located a deceased male. We have been advised that Belleville has taken over the investigation. For any further information please reach out to them.”
Quinte News has once again contacted the Belleville Police Service for more information.
