Prince Edward County is considering the rezoning of a property along Victoria Road in Ameliasburgh.
During Wednesday’s Planning and Development Committee meeting, a statutory public meeting was held regarding the potential rezoning of 3131 Victoria Road.
The zoning amendment is being requested in order to convert existing structures into an event venue. The venue would be contained in the current standing barn and the upper floor of the garage, with the intent to host weddings and corporate retreats.
During the meeting, some local residents voiced concerns about the rezoning. Some of the most commonly cited reasons were noise and traffic lasting into the evening and night.
The statutory meeting was completed with no decisions made and the zoning request will return to the committee at a later date with feedback from council and public considered.
